The term “sundowning” refers to a state of confusion occurring in the late afternoon and spanning into the night. Sundowning can cause a variety of behaviors, such as confusion, anxiety, aggression, or ignoring directions. It can also lead to pacing or wandering.
Through years of experience in managing dementia, we have learned that a lot of thought process goes into managing the elderlies with dementia who are persistently struggling with sundowning syndrome.

“Trying New Roles And Gaining New Skills At Epoch” is a blog by Romi Cannon (our Human Resource Assistant), wherein he shares his experience of trying a new role given an opportune moment.
Starting his journey as a care attendant at Epoch gave him an understanding of the criticality this role holds. With his new role as an HR assistant, he could quickly connect to prospective candidates for the Care Attendant’s role.
Adding to his role as an HR assistant, Romi says, “With much support of senior colleagues, I was able to manage this role with confidence. Here I learnt new skills like vendor management, maintenance planning, and working with multiple departments.”
